why metriq?

Consultative

One of metriq's core values is to drive not just business but deliver information. We call it an open-source creative strategy. We like to teach so that our clients come out empowered to build great things long after they need us. And we find that they often like us to stick around and help them elevate past their newfound standard.

In-Sourced

We don't subcontract. We don't send edits overseas and then tell you we did them. We were founded because our owner WANTED to make cool stuff. If we lack a skillset that is needed to get a project done, we will manage a contractor to support the task, but pass their invoices directly without a markup.

Tailor-Made

metriq doesn’t do template solutions. We aren’t an agency that tries to force you into our model. Your brand deserves the effort and creative solutions you expect from your creative agency. We deliver on those.

Defining
The goals, market, users and parameters.

We start each project with defining the elements and factors of a project. This helps support scope, but also allows for visibility into final deliverables and iteration work. In our experience, this really is a necessity for an effective execution

Empathy
first modeling.

Most of UXD principles and frameworks revolve around one key word: empathy. We like to take it a step further, and build out persona is an understanding of the market as a whole based on findings. This isn’t necessarily a step that every agency will conduct, and is usually leveraged as a way to convince someone to do business with you, but we want to build an understanding of mental modeling, so we can really sit in the shoes of your audience to build a product and experience that engages in forms quickly

Building
the plan.

Planning is a key part of any strategic initiative. It can separate success from failure and quality from waste. Part of our planning process is to understand how we can leverage our findings to this point to build the product that we know the market is looking for. It may seem trivial, as planning is a part of any projects, inevitably, but we take this stuff, incredibly serious, as we want to mitigate risk, and be able to speak to why and how we intend to solve the problem.

Test
and implement.

It’s incredibly easy for agencies to complete a project, send an invoice, and move onto the next big deal. We like to slow our way out of a project by also prioritizing new analytics, based on our projects execution, and getting an understanding of user sentiment, so we can make sure that we are positioned well and responsive to any Necessary action. Testing is what makes a great campaign from an OK campaign.

Highlight
and build understanding..

One of the main ways we differ, so vastly from our competitors is that we like to offer up value long after our project is closed. We do this by offering a synopsis or summary of our findings through the process, traditionally, rooted in data, both qualitative and quantitative, we hope to be able to bring value to your brands growth, so that way when you need a partner in your next endeavor, or at least in the running. Clients regularly champion for our agency, based solely on our ability to highlight the findings so that they can move forward with her brand, and not feel that they have to be a life standing partner of our agency to see success.

Frequently Asked Questions

We would hate to waste your time! Here are some key high-level questions we get often.

What separates your design process from the others?
While many web and creative agencies choose to adapt a workflow that leverages a templated website that they will force your brand to work into, we take a different approach. From sketchwork to wire framing, we take an experience first approach to our websites so you can rest assured you have longevity and a conversion based website.

How long does it take, start to finish?
We are fully aware that this is not an ideal answer, but it really does depend. Some clients have a strong brand foundation that can make the design of a website “Go Live” in just weeks. While others require clean slates, flow maps, and wireframes that can take up to 6 months to deploy. These are the polarities of our business, but can happen. Our average engagement for net new websites is 3 months; assuming no budget constraints and a healthy communication between us and our clients.
expand_more
Do you manage our website AFTER you build it?
We offer a discounted continuity rate to all of our existing website clients. These are month to month retainers at a 20% hourly discount. We always advocate for using the full allotment of hours to make slight improvements to your site, as no portion of the retainer is refundable.

I want you to design our site, but we have a developer partner. Can we still work together?
Oh absolutely. The perk of an agency that's based on hourly revenue, not projects with hidden fees and costs, is that we will work on what you need and support where possible. We have a few clients that have established relationships with overseas developers, and choose to leverage us for additional work rather than justify the cost of local developers.
expand_more
What does the process look like from start to finish?
It can vary, but an “average” project has 5 steps that can vary in length based on need. These 5 steps are the depth model, which we are proud to say originated within our organization.

Define: Define the parameters, scope of work, target audience, key business needs, UVP’s and timeline of the project.

Empathy: Empathize with users of the finished site so that we have a strong grasp and understanding of how to build out the solution.

Plan: This is where design happens. We execute on a plan built from the definitions and empathy mapping done above.

Test: We offer ongoing time commitments to continue to test and optimize your conversion rate, funnel health, and site functionality. (This step is technically optional.)

Highlight: When testing, we mandate that we will prepare findings and discoveries along the way, at no extra cost to you. This is to not only give you visibility into what tests did or did not work, but we find that our clients use our test findings and research to influence other campaigns in their organization.
